Koblenz Floor Buffering Guide
This chart is a complete guide on how to clean and maintain each type of floor with a Koblenz floor buffer and it's accessories.
For Wood, Marble, Linoleum
Step 1. Clean: Neutral Cleaner
- Dilute the General Purpose/Neutral Cleaner in the tank following the instructions on the bottle.
- Use the floor buffer with tan cleaning pads.
- If the floor is very dirty use the green scrubbing pads.
- Mop and let dry.
Step 2. Polish
- Use the floor buffer with dry tan pads on dry scrubbing brushes.
Step 3. Buff
- Apply two coats of the High Gloss Protective/Acrylic Floor Finish.
- Between waxings use the floor buffer with lambswool pads to maintain a high gloss finish.
Step 4. Touch Ups
- To remove scuff marks from the floor's finish use the floor buffer with dry tan pads.
- If the floor is very dirty, use the floor buffers as described in step 1.
Carpeting & Rugs
Step 1. Clean: Shampoo
- Dilute Dry Foam Carpet Shampoo in the machine tank following the instructions on the bottle.
- Use the floor buffers with soft white bristle carpet brushes.
- Use the trigger mechanism to dispense the right amount of shampoo sparingly until you see a white foam on the carpet.
- Guide the floor polisher with forward and backward movements.
Step 2. Let Dry
- After shampooing let dry, 3-4 hours, preferably over night.
Step 3. Vacuum
- Vacuum crystallized dirt debris.
Step 4. Touch Ups
- Use the floor polisher with the Dry Foam Carpet Shampoo to remove spots and maintain high traffic areas without the need to shampoo the entire carpet.
- If you have heavy grease based stains use the Koblenz floor buffers with the Heavy Duty Cleaner. Follow with the Dry Foam Rug Shampoo.
Ceramic Tile, Grout, Vinyl, & Concrete
Step 1. Clean: Heavy Duty Cleaner
- Dilute the Heavy Duty Cleaner in the tank of the floor polisher following the instructions on the bottle.
- Use the floor polisher with the natural bristle brushes or green scrubbing pads.
- Mop and let dry.
- Continue with step 2.
Step 2. Polish
- Use the floor polisher with dry tan pads to obtain a high gloss shine follow with step 3.
Step 3. Buff
- Apply two coats of High Gloss Protective/Acrylic Floor Finish with a sponge. Buff with felt pads.
- Between waxings use the floor polisher with felt buffing pads to renew the shine.
Step 4. Touch Ups
- To remove scuff marks, use the floor polisher with dry tan pads, these will remove marks without dulling the finish
- If the floor is very dirty, use the floor buffer as described in step 1.
*NOTE: Scrubbing brushes are recommended for textured surfaces and grout, green pads are recommended for smooth surfaces.
